Spiritual Warfare

This Sunday we drove out to Cacapon Park in West Virginia (about a 2 hr drive for us). Our home church met out at Cacapon last year too. This year we had very nice weather with temperatures in the 50s. A sermon by Mr. Staddon I thought was very important, and worthy of recounting. The main point of the message was a reminder that we are all in spiritual warfare right now - culturally, as a nation.. It has been said that all it takes for evil to prosper is for good people to do nothing… or something like that… anyway, the point is that we as Christians must reach out and make a difference in our nation. I think it was a good example of putting our faith into practice when after the message, the fathers decided to go around the park witnessing (i.e. sharing the gospel) to other people. Others of us supported them in prayer. I was very encouraged by the whole day, but especially this timely sermon.

Hebrews 4:12  For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Ephesians 6:10-13  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  (11)  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  (12)  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  (13)  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Excellent report Tim! I concur with you on the blessedness of the day - excellent pictures. I like the 'roundy-round' pic :-) . And praise the Lord that an initiative was made to make a difference.

It was such a privilege to be there with you all! I didn't realize it took you two hours to drive to Cacapon. :0 God loves to reward those who make the effort to serve Him; it sure sounds like He did! By the way, I really like the picture of the kids on the playground picture. It captures the motion and activity well.
