Scenes & Highlights from Family Encouragment Weekend



This is the second annual weekend long conference. It was designed to encourage families to shine their lights in their local communities, and to become more closely knit together as a whole family. Here are a couple points that encouraged me particularly.

 

  • “We should not be trying to achieve balance between our career, and our family. The question should be one of priority - Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” If we seek first the kingdom of God, caring for our family will naturally flow out of that.

 

  • Prayer is powerful. Many places where persecution is the hottest are also places where the Christians are ‘on fire for God’. These Christians' prayers are desperate - if God doesn’t answer their prayers, there’s nowhere else to turn. I think of Brother Andrew’s stories as great examples of this. If God is our last resort, why not make Him our first resort.

Thanks for sharing these pictures! The event will go down in my memory as one of the greatest highlights of 2009.
