This was an exciting picture to compose. What with catching flying cockatiels, holding the backdrop, scrunching under a desk to get far enough away to take the picture, and getting a person to pose with the birds, it was quite an adventure!

I just love breeding cockatiels! Aren't they just the cutest little things? When I first saw the little baby birds, before they feathered out, I thought they were ugly, but now I don't.

Yes! the cockatiels so exciting! Tim took some pictures from outside the nest, looking in. One picture was one with a egg. That was in the morning. Now Mare just came and said she's sure she saw two babies. I am really wondering how many babies it is going to turn out to be!

Suspicions confirmed: there is one (strangely shaped) tiny, white egg in the nesting box. Hopefully there will be more before long.

Update: They continue to mate, and are nesting in their box. I think we'll soon have MORE cockatiels!

I really like Chantilly because he's so personable When he starts to sing and say "pretty bird," I reward him by scratching his head. He really seems to like that.

Yes Joshua, I wonder what is was like for Adam to name the animals. Did he just name the families? -cat, dog, or what? I guess there is no way to know for sure. But it is interesting to think about.

Some people say that Adam was the smartest person ever to live because he named all the animals in one day. The Bible doesn't say how long it took Adam to name the animals - I don't think this sort of speculation is good. Besides, it won't make one bit of difference to us in our Christian lives how long it took Adam to name the animals anyway.
